Record Breaking Crowd at the Parish Festival in Jermyn, Pennsylvania The Parish Festival & Car Show weekend of Friday, September 23, Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25 at St. Michael's Center in Jermyn, Pennsylvania was greeted with warm sunny weather, blue skies and gentle breezes. The festival was a tremendous success with over 2,000 people who supported us during the three days and we truly engaged the greater community with our Orthodox Christian hospitality and our special delicious cuisine. On Saturday, St. Tikhon's Seminary Band under the direction of Dn. Matthew Joyner provided the entertainment. We had over 27 Vendors, including St. Tikhon's Seminary and Book Store, and Fr. John Perich who provided many Eastern Orthodox Church collectibles, Icons, crosses for the hundreds of people who attended. The Sunday Classic Car Show had nearly 200 cars entered. On Sunday afternoon His Eminence, Archbishop Mark addressed the nearly 1,200 people who gathered for the special 15 Anniversary of 9-11 program, and offered a prayer for the departed and greeted and blessed the huge crowd. Fr. John Perich, who was a first responder at the at the 9-11 attack presented an Icon to the Parish of Christ holding the Twin Towers. The program ended with the singing of God Bless America and Memory Eternal.
