Pictures from the Miracle of Christmas show & dinner - 11/29/08

The Centennial Committee sponsored a bus trip to the Millennium Theatre in Lancaster County, PA on Saturday, November 29th, 2008.  A group of passengers was picked up in Blakeslee, PA.  On the bus, water & crackers or cookies were available along with Golden or Red apples.  About 20 games of Bingowere played.  All the prizes were Christmas items.  We arrived at the Hershey Farm Restaurant for a light meal before the show then headed up the hill to the theatre.  The seats were great and the show was magnificent.  After the show we proceeded to the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant where we had a wonderful meal.  There was a 50/50 on the bus that was won by Lydia Popoff and she donated some of the money back to the Centennial Committee.  The whole day, including the weather was fabulous.

More Information >

The Holy Scripture is a collection of books written over multiple centuries by those inspired by God to do so. It is the primary witness to the Orthodox Christian faith, within Holy Tradition and often described as its highest point. It was written by the prophets and apostles in human language, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and collected, edited, and canonized by the Church.

Daily Readings >

Holiness or sainthood is a gift (charisma) given by God to man, through the Holy Spirit. Man's effort to become a participant in the life of divine holiness is indispensable, but sanctification itself is the work of the Holy Trinity, especially through the sanctifying power of Jesus Christ, who was incarnate, suffered crucifixion, and rose from the dead, in order to lead us to the life of holiness, through the communion with the Holy Spirit.
